Dear STARS Parents,
Welcome to the 21/22 school year at STARS! We are all so excited to start the school year and see your students back in our building. I am hopeful that this year will be smoother than last year, but also know that our amazing team is prepared to be flexible and roll with whatever situations come our way.
Classroom information will be coming out on August 10th. Your child’s teacher will be in touch with you then, and will be sending out specific information about their classroom, including supply lists.
Back to School Night for STARS will be held in person on August 11th from 5-7 PM. This will be an opportunity for you to meet your child’s teacher and see the classroom. The first day of school for grades 1-5 will be August 16th. Kindergarten will have KEEP testing scheduled during that first week of school (sign ups will be included in the teacher email on the 10th) and the first day of school for Kindergarten will be August 23rd.
We are going to continue to run carpool as we did last year. It made the wait time shorter for everyone, and reduced the amount of traffic on one side of the building. This year, if your child is in K-2nd grade, carpool will be on the north side of the building (look for signs during the first week). If your child is in grades 3rd-5th, carpool will be on the south side of the building. For this carpool, please enter the parking lot through the driveway between the Maverik building and STARS. There will also be signs out to help direct traffic for the upper elementary carpool the first week of school.
Please make sure to have all of your student’s information up to date. This includes their registration packet, any healthcare information, change of address if you have moved, emergency contact and approved pickup information. Having this information updated helps us be able to have clear communication with families during these first weeks of school as we settle in. This information can all be completed online.
Also, please start thinking about ordering lunches if your child will be eating school lunch. The order information is available through the Spectrum Academy website as well as information on free or reduced lunch.
As the school year begins, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns that you may have. Our goal is for every student to have a successful year at STARS!
Thank you, Molly Poirier
