High School credits and COVID

Good Afternoon Spectrum Academy High School Families,

Thank you for working with us as we have continued Distance Learning this week. I need to provide some clarification regarding school work when students are absent due to COVID. If your student is unable to work on schoolwork while absent we can be flexible on when that work is due. However, since high school credits require students to demonstrate competency and understanding of the material, we cannot excuse the work completely.

The purpose of the question that asks if you want your student to participate in school work while out is so that teachers know whether to offer students extra time to turn in the work or if they can anticipate students to turn in work on the original due date. We understand the stress of this difficult time and will continue to partner with you in doing what we can to support our community.
